I serve on the Commodore Media Group Executive Board, which focuses on leadership both in and outside of the classroom. To me, leadership is a role that should be embraced with honor and grace. A good leader, in my view, is someone who can admit when they are wrong, empathize with others, find common ground, guide the team through challenges, and know when to take action. Through my work on the Executive Board, I’ve been able to put these principles into practice.

For example, I make a point to respond to staff texts on weekends and days off, even offering support with personal challenges that may affect their work and overall well-being. I have also addressed issues within the classroom, such as a lack of trust between team members. To resolve this, I have organized training sessions, meetings, and one-on-one conversations. These efforts have helped build a stronger team, and as a result, our work is not only getting done but it is being done well.
