About Me

Hi, I’m Allie Drewrey, a senior at Lafayette High School and an executive board member of Commodore Media Group (CMG). Throughout my journey in media, I’ve had the opportunity to lead, create, and engage in diverse roles that have shaped my passion for storytelling and multimedia production.

Before I knew it, I was stepping into leadership roles that pushed me to become a spokesperson and an advocate for the communities I’ve been a part of. In high school, I served as President of the Lafayette County FFA Chapter for two years and Secretary the year prior, which gave me invaluable experience in leadership and communication. I was also honored to serve as Miss Rodeo Pontotoc 2023-2024, a role that required me to represent my community with grace and clarity. Additionally, I was the captain of my Track and Field Pole Vault team for three years, which taught me the importance of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance—qualities I carry into my work in media.

My media journey began in high school, where I was introduced to the world of digital storytelling. I started working on the yearbook, eventually becoming the main anchor for WLHS11 and taking on leadership roles such as Head Photographer and videographer, and overseeing WLHS11. Thanks to the mentorship of my advisor, I’ve had the opportunity to explore virtually every aspect of media production—from on-air broadcasting to behind-the-scenes editing and content creation. Over the past four years, I’ve honed my skills in Photography and Multimedia Broadcasting, and I am passionate about the ability of visual media to communicate complex ideas in ways that words alone can’t.

As part of the Commodore Media Group, I also manage the social media account @lafco_cmg, where I’ve built a community and consistently shared news and updates for the past two years. In addition to my work with CMG, I had the incredible opportunity to work with the SEC Network during the 2023-2024 Ole Miss Men’s and Women’s Basketball seasons. There, I gained hands-on experience working courtside and behind the camera—an experience that deepened my understanding of live sports production and broadcasting.

For me, media is more than just creating content; it’s about connecting people with the world around them. I believe every moment, every event, and every story deserves to be shared. So often, the most compelling moments in life go unnoticed, and I’ve dedicated myself to finding new ways to capture and share these stories. Whether through photography, video, or live broadcast, my goal is to show others the richness of the world we live in and bring their stories to life.

One thing I’ve learned through my journey is that storytelling doesn’t have to be linear—it can take many forms, from visuals to audio, text to performance. That’s the beauty of media, and it’s what excites me most about this field. In moments of doubt or uncertainty, I often reflect on a quote that has guided me: "You gotta keep on keepin’ on." – Joe Dirt. It reminds me that persistence, creativity, and a willingness to keep moving forward are the keys to success.
